Leadership Experience

April 14, 2025 By ESAB Corporation

ESAB Corporation designed a leadership experience for its mid-level leaders from across its global organization. During the six-month experience, called “ELX,” associates participated in a variety of learning sessions, group exercises and projects to help them foster skills that create value within an organization, cultivate personal understanding of strengths and opportunities, and understand the larger impact they can have through influence. Our global executive leadership team has also been engaged in the experience by sharing their own personal growth and development stories.

Here are comments from two of our recent participants:

Participating in the ELX program seems to be the most transformative experience of my professional career, far exceeding my initial expectations.

Appreciating the recognition and invite to the program at first, I wasn’t entirely certain what to anticipate. I immediately discovered that ELX is a multidimensional journey. It has been a deep exploration of self, guided by exceptional coaches, an intensive leadership skills development crash course alongside exceptionally self-driven peers from around the globe, and a rare opportunity to connect with and learn from top true Leaders within ESAB.

Although I’ve had past leadership experiences largely guided by gut feeling, I now realize that ELX has set me on the true path to becoming an authentic leader. The insights, tools, and support I’ve received have been invaluable.

I feel truly fortunate to be part of ELX and look forward to continuing my leadership journey with the knowledge and skills I’ve gained.

I learned a lot about myself: Knowing where your energy goes, accepting that and planning the days accordingly is super powerful. That sounds simple and the assessment is obvious for certain activities. But there might be some jobs which you really enjoy but they still consume a lot of calories. And there might be jobs which you don’t like and avoid but they actually don’t consume much energy at all!

Some other great insights came from my own management profile assessment. Being able to communicate what resonates well with me and why I react or do things in a certain way is a great value. We need to work and want to work with many different kinds of characters and personalities. Some characters resonate well naturally, some need guidance to get the full potential out of the collaboration.
