Touch Kings Football Club (TKFC), the premier Maryland-based youth soccer club, is proud to announce a new sponsorship with ESAB Corporation (NYSE: ESAB), a world leader in fabrication and specialty gas control technology. Through this partnership ESAB, headquartered in North Bethesda, Md., will become the official sponsor of TKFC’s youth football club kits for the 2022-2023 season.
“We are grateful for corporate citizens like ESAB who support our mission to provide an affordable and safe learning environment for youth to develop through sport,” said Omar Abukar, Touch Kings Football Club Co-Founder. “This sponsorship will help give us the resources to outfit our players and help them compete this season,” added TKFC Co-Founder Alambi Clarke.
“This sponsorship is an example of how ESAB realizes its purpose, Shaping the world we imagine, and youth sports is an instrumental way that we can achieve that ambition in the communities that we work, live, and play,” said Curtis Jewell, General Counsel, ESAB Corporation. “We are honored to work with Coach Omar, Coach Brian, Coach Alambi, and the entire TKFC staff to help them advance their vision of giving more kids access to afford, learn, and play sports through Touch Kings Football Club.”
In addition to the new sponsorship, Touch Kings Football Club is also thrilled to announce the formation of the TKFC Foundation, a non-profit focused on increasing opportunities for personal growth through athletics within underserved communities. Paley Rothman, one of the region’s leading law firms, is providing pro bono assistance to the TKFC Foundation.
“We don’t want to leave any child behind, and we are fully committed to creating opportunities for them to access sports and open doors to a successful future,” said Touch Kings Football Co-Founder Brian Davis. “This foundation will give children the tangible resources to develop themselves and positively impact our community.”
“We are excited to support the formation of the TKFC Foundation,” said Jim Hammerschmidt, Co-President, Paley Rothman. “All kids everywhere should be able to play sports like soccer, and the TKFC Foundation will help assure that they can.”
“Providing pro bono legal services to organizations like the TKFC Foundation is a tremendously gratifying part of being an attorney, particularly as a father of kids involved in the sport, because I see the direct benefit an organization like this can have in children’s lives,” adds Kevin D’Anna, the Paley Rothman attorney who worked with TKFC Foundation most directly.
To celebrate the start of the upcoming fall soccer season and recognize this partnership, TKFC will host a kickoff event and new ESAB Corporation-sponsored kit unveil at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1 at Bowie High School in Bowie, Md. More details will be sent in advance of the event.
